The Second Week
So it's week two of the fifty, although I am late already in posting. It's been a better week in some ways. Husband in a better place. Weather has been amazing. Managed to see some friends, albeit at a distance. But it is still ten weeks of lockdown. Ten claps for the key workers as of yesterday and that is the end of the claps apparently. From Monday we can see up to 6 people at a time. Unless, like me, you have to go back to work in which case you have to put-up with whoever. There has been a week of scandal about Dominic Cummings, the Prime Minister's Rasputin but I can't even begin to write about that - I will be here for an hour. One rule for them and one rule for the rest of us sums it up...
I can legally see my family next week though. It is the longest I have ever not seen my mum for. I never did the travelling on a gap year 'thing'. The longest I've done is a coulee of months. I had seen her at Christmas and there was a date in for March but that went for a burton and here we are nearly in June. I am hoping to have constructed a cuddle curtain before we go, if eBay sends the components in time. A shower curtain with gloves seen in, facing either side. So you can safely hug someone bt maintain safety. Fingers crossed it arrives and I don't make a mess of it!
I sang along to Take That this evening on a live youtube broadcast. I have seen them in concert three or four times. I hadn't thought I would go again. But now, I would go to any live music I was offered. They don't think there will be any gigs before next year. Horrific. Son has already heard that The WkEnd in October is moved. We have missed David Gray and I think my hopes of finally seeing Elton John in November are pretty limited. Really sad. And really worrying. Hope we do get live events back. Hope our lives will not be conducted online forever and a day.
Hair also got dyed this week. Never dyed my hair myself. Always too nervous after nearly fifty years. But last night, Teen 2 gave it a go and it's not half bad. Apparently no cutting until at least July but I have at least disguised my roots for while. And at least I don't appear to be greying yet. Must be the Anglo-Indian part of me finally making a useful appearance.
